Marian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Divine Child Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Marian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
Marian was handed a 21-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against the Arrows on Tuesday. Marian narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Arrows 36-33. Given Marian's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 130th in Michigan, while the Arrows are ranked 521st in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Charlie Bingham out in front who scored eight points. Ruby Jansen was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Divine Child took a serious blow against the Fighting Irish on Tuesday, falling 43-16. Divine Child has not had much luck with the Fighting Irish recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Marian now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Divine Child, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Marian took their win against the Falcons in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 47-22. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
