Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Kennedale Wildcats, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 49-27 walloping at the hands of Alvarado on Thursday. Kennedale's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Cardea Collier was his usual excellent self, rushing for 146 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 223 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes. Collier was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. Alvarado also got help from Demarcus Belton who showed off his sure hands for 134 receiving yards.
Kennedale's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Alvarado, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
Kennedale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Alvarado also has no future games currently scheduled.
