Basketball Recap: Paxton Skates Past Leyton with Ease

Paxton won the last time they faced Leyton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Paxton Tigers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Leyton Warriors 64-35. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Paxton to victory were Maddex Mcconnell and Tanner Hebblethwaite. Mcconnell went 8 of 11 on his way to 16 points and three steals, while Hebblethwaite dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Hebblethwaite, who posted six points and four steals.

Paxton was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leyton only racked up four assists.

Despite the loss, Leyton still got an impressive performance from Kaleb Miller, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. Miller has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times he's played.

Paxton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31 points. As for Leyton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Paxton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 53-50 defeat against Maywood/Hayes Center on the 10th. As for Leyton, they will face off against Hay Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
