The Wharton Wildcats put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 60-18 victory over Leto at home. The result was nothing new for Wharton, who have now won eight contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Wharton found their leader in underclassman Jayla Grady, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Tamara Bryant, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Wharton pushed their record up to 14-0 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Leto, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Wharton and King will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. King will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 607th, while Wharton is ranked 64th). Leto and Steinbrenner will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Steinbrenner's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so Leto's offense will have their work cut out for Leto.
