Browne is 9-1 against Maryvale since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bruins will be playing at home against the Panthers at 3:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Browne made easy work of South Mountain and carried off a 17-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.
Shyla Vasquez made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

Like Browne, Maryvale also got a great game from a two-way player: Isabel Hernandez. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Those hits were Hernandez's first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing seven bases while going 1-for-3. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.5 stolen bases per game.

Maryvale's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Browne, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Browne has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Maryvale struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
