On Friday, The Wetumka Chieftains faced the Weleetka Outlaws in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Wetumka fell 36-26 to Weleetka. Wetumka's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Leading Weleetka to victory were Isaac Drake and Isaiah Drake. Drake gained 115 total yards and four touchdowns, while Drake threw for 221 yards and four touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Drake is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last six games he's played.
Wetumka's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Weleetka, their win was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wetumka's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Yale at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Yale is ranked 17th, while Wetumka is ranked 18th). As for Weleetka, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Barnsdall at 7:00 p.m.
