This season hasn't been kind to the Greenway Demons, who are still winless after their fourth match. They were dealt a 59-28 loss at the hands of Coconino on Monday. Greenway lost against Coconino in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 58-19 score last time.
Coconino's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aviana Scharfenberger, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Scharfenberger has scored at least 25% of Coconino's points. Another player making a difference was Autumn Larsen, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds.
Greenway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Coconino, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Greenway will be playing in front of their home fans against Bradshaw Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coconino, they will head out on the road to face off against Thunderbird at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
