Beau Chene is 0-5 against Ville Platte since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Beau Chene Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Ville Platte Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Beau Chene had to suffer through a rough 66-2 loss at the hands of JS Clark Leadership Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Beau Chene has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Ville Platte came up short against North Vermilion on Tuesday and fell 50-41. While losing is never fun, Ville Platte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while North Vermilion is ranked 108th).
Despite the defeat, Ville Platte had strong showings from Janiah Leday, who scored 20 points along with three steals, and raeosha thomas, who scored two points along with six rebounds. Leday scored a full 48.8% of Ville Platte's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Beau Chene's record is now 2-7. Ville Platte's record now sits at 4-8.
