Eastern recap November 5, 2013
Paradise was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in Eastern. Earlier in the week, the Bobcats defeated Red Bluff 56-21.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Enterprise beat Shasta 50-13. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Enterprise's dynamic duo of Bobby Luken and Alex Talladino proved to be unstoppable against the Wolves, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Luken threw for 272 yards and 6 touchdowns and Talladino had 185 yards receiving. Izzy Perea helped Enterprise's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 33 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Chico's Clayton Welch and Miles Fishback have proven to be a lethal combination. Welch has thrown for 1,656 yards this season, while Fishback has 31 catches for 568 yards. Darren Trueblood's team's Isaiah Matthews leads the league in rushing yards with 1,362.
The Panthers' Cameron Alfaro is a mere 43 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 127 carries Alfaro has accumulated 957 yard this year.
The Hornets are in first place, while Pleasant Valley is in fifth place.
Aaron Gingery's team fell to Enterprise 50-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
