The El Camino Eagles suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of Vista del Lago by a score of 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
El Camino lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Matt Martin, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovin Rolph, who scored 12 points.
El Camino struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Vista del Lago racked up 17 assists.
Nathan Kramer was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Vista del Lago. Jonah Stegall was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
El Camino's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 6-13. As for Vista del Lago, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
