Basketball Recap: Saint James Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Eliane Demba and Tenley Mullendore

Saint James was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holton-Arms. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Holton-Arms are ranked 19th).

Tenley Mullendore and Eliane Demba certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Mullendore posted 22 points and five steals, while Demba put up nine points along with eight steals and six boards. Those nine points gave Demba a new career-high.

Saint James' defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Holton-Arms, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saint James will take on Brunswick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Saint James has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Holton-Arms, they will square off against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
