Basketball Recap: Ford Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ford had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They skirted past the Tom Bean Tomcats 28-25. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 53-50 win the Tomcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.

Tom Bean lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Taylor Vick, who posted 12 points. Sam Lind was another key player, putting up four points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.

Ford has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.0 points per game. As for Tom Bean, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-8.

Ford will head out to face off against Sunnyvale at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Sunnyvale's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Ford has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Tom Bean, they will welcome Honey Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
