The D'Evelyn Jaguars are taking a road trip to take on the Windsor Wizards at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
D'Evelyn barely beat Standley Lake the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. D'Evelyn put the hurt on Standley Lake with a sharp 14-4 victory on Tuesday. The Jaguars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Ryan Kim was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Kim was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jack Meiser and Chase Beardsley did most of the damage at the plate: Meiser scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Beardsley scored three runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Meiser has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cameron McLetchie, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Windsor entered their tilt with Dakota Ridge on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Wizards, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Like D'Evelyn, Windsor also got a great game from a two-way player: Ethan Fillinger. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fillinger was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Windsor let Mason Jordan and Tripp Thomas run wild. Jordan scored a run while going 1-for-1, while Thomas scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Calderon, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Windsor hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.
D'Evelyn's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Windsor, their record is now 5-1.
D'Evelyn might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from Windsor in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can D'Evelyn avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
