The Knob Noster Panthers pushed their score all the way to 73 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 81-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of Weaubleau. Knob Noster was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Weaubleau apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ella Goodrich, who scored 29 points. Goodrich scored a full 39.7% of Knob Noster's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kaitlyn Stewart was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Knob Noster and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Weaubleau, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Knob Noster will head out on the road to face off against Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Marshall comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Weaubleau will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Warsaw at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th.
