Goessel is 10-0 against Peabody-Burns since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Goessel Bluebirds will be home for the holidays to greet the Peabody-Burns Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Goessel pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rural Vista [Hope/White City].
Meanwhile, Peabody-Burns was beaten by Herington 74-46 on Friday. Peabody-Burns was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-16.
Despite the loss, Peabody-Burns saw an underclassman step up: Jameson Miles dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Aiden Hurst was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Goessel now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Peabody-Burns, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
