After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pocola, the Marlow Outlaws were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against Purcell by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46. For Marlow, this counts as revenge for the 62-46 loss Purcell walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Marlow's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Parker Boyles led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Boyles has scored at least 25% of Marlow's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blayd Harris, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Marlow has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Purcell, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marlow will take on Washington at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Purcell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lexington at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Lexington is ranked 145th, while Purcell is ranked 137th).
