Woodlawn has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Pell City Panthers at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodlawn will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Pell City is ranked 83rd).
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Woodlawn, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-44 loss to Mountain Brook. Woodlawn has struggled against Mountain Brook recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Pell City suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Shades Valley by a score of 49-46. Pell City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Heaven O'Neal, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Iyana Allen was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Woodlawn has been struggling recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Pell City, their loss dropped their record down to 15-11.
Things could have been worse for Woodlawn, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 45-31 loss to Pell City when the teams last played last Friday. Can Woodlawn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
