Baseball Recap: Riverdale Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Riverdale entered their tilt with Estero on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Estero Wildcats. That's two games straight that the Raiders have won by just one run.

Peyton Williams made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Nick Gonzalez was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season.

Riverdale's record now sits at 4-2. As for Estero, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-2.

The future could be bright for both Riverdale and Estero: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Riverdale will look to extend Lehigh's six-game losing streak when they meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Estero will try to hand Palmetto Ridge their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
