Everything came up roses for Gardiner against Lima on Saturday as the squad secured a 63-7 victory. Gardiner were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Gardiner's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 43 first-half points. Meanwhile, Lima couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 43-0 heading into the break. Gardiner put the contest away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.
Next week Gardiner take on White Sulphur Springs at 1:00 PM. Those two teams have set a high bar for this match after stand-out offensive performances in their previous contests. As for Lima, they will face off against Sheridan. Sheridan also experienced difficulties finding the end zone in their matchup this week, so look for the defenses to decide this one.
