The Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles entered their tilt with The Master's Academy Lions with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pinnacle Classical Academy walked away with a 48-38 victory over The Master's Academy on Monday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Pinnacle Classical Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while The Master's Academy is ranked 71st).
Pinnacle Classical Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Akeelah Davis, who dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least 25% of Pinnacle Classical Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Price, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds.
Pinnacle Classical Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for The Master's Academy, they have yet to win a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-1 record.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinnacle Classical Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Highland Tech at 5:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for The Master's Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Community Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. Community Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
