Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Elite Academy

Elite Academy had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 20-point drubbing they dealt Somerset Prep on Friday. Everything went the Elite Academy Eagles 's way against Somerset Prep as the Elite Academy Eagles made off with a 62-42 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Elite Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ladainian Brooks, who went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points and eight boards. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Levi Brown was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points.

Elite Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Elite Academy, bringing their record for this year to 8-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 6.75 points across that stretch. As for Somerset Prep, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Elite Academy will head out on the road to challenge King's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. King's Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Elite Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Somerset Prep, they will host Spanish River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Somerset Prep is facing Spanish River at the right time seeing as Spanish River is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
