The Brooke Point Black Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the North Stafford Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Brooke Point focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Brooke Point didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Hylton, but they still walked away with a 45-40 win. Given Brooke Point's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Hylton is ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seth Sanusi and Ryan Apietu were among the main playmakers for Brooke Point as the former scored 12 points along with 3 steals and the latter scored 11 points. Apietu continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Demabior Shokai was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 3 blocks.
Meanwhile, North Stafford lost to Potomac Falls at home by a decisive 66-47 margin on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that North Stafford has lost by exactly 19 points.
Brooke Point's win bumped their season record to 3-1 while Hylton's defeat dropped theirs to 1-4.
Brooke Point beat North Stafford 48-38 when the teams last played back in February. Does Brooke Point have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Stafford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
