The Princeville Princes waltzed into their contest Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 56-43 victory over Delavan. Given Princeville's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Delavan is ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Delavan's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Brockhouse, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Pagel, who scored eight points.
Princeville's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Delavan, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Princeville will be home for the holidays to greet Midwest Central at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Midwest Central is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Delavan, they will head out on the road to face off against Greenview at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
