Snowflake has gone a perfect 4-0 against St. Johns recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lobos will face off against the Redskins at 2:00 p.m. Snowflake will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Snowflake was able to grind out a solid win over Winslow, taking the game 5-2.
Kashlynn Cantrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kelsey Scarbrough was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Riley Perkins also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, St. Johns never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Many Farms 23-0. Considering the Redskins have won eight contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kasey Tsinajinnie made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, St. Johns got a massive performance out of Jordynn Tsinajinnie, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Those four runs gave Tsinajinnie a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyvia Richardson, who went 1-for-3 with six stolen bases and four runs.
St. Johns always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Snowflake's record now sits at 11-8. As for St. Johns, their record is now 10-8-1.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Snowflake hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .366. However, it's not like St. Johns struggles in that department as they've averaged .354. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Snowflake got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against St. Johns by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lobos since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
