D.C. Everest has gone 8-2 against Marshfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Evergreens will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (D.C. Everest has eight straight victories, Marshfield has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
D.C. Everest is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hudson a 9-0 shutout on Friday. With that win, the Evergreens brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
The result came thanks to Addison Kluck's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Klatt, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Freidel, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Marshfield was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They lost 7-1 to Mosinee. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered since May 14, 2024.
Marshfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Kraus, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Marshfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for D.C. Everest, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. D.C. Everest hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Marshfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
