Softball Recap: Sugar-Salem's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Sugar-Salem dropped their record down to 12-8 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Teton Timberwolves. The Diggers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Timberwolves earlier this season, when they won 21-19.

Jaidyn Hirschi was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Taylee Robertson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

As for Teton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games.

On Teton's side, the team relied heavily on Kadence Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Kapri Eiden also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Sugar-Salem does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Teton, they will welcome South Fremont at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Timberwolves' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Cougars have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
