Millbrook is 9-1 against Wakefield since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Millbrook Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Wakefield Wolverines at 7:45 p.m. Millbrook is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Millbrook posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 84-52 win over Rolesville. Given Millbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Rolesville is ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Colt Langdon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Millbrook's points. Another player making a difference was Alex Olander, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Wakefield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against Wake Forest as Wakefield made off with a 66-43 win.
Taj Boone-Chambers was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Syncere Burnette, who scored 11 points.
Millbrook is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Wakefield, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's game: Millbrook have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4.9 threes per game. However, it's not like Wakefield struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 7.6 threes per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Millbrook's way against Wakefield when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as Millbrook made off with a 83-60 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Wakefield's Dominic Haney, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Millbrook to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
