On Friday, The South Nodaway Longhorns faced the King City Wildkats in a battle between two of the state's top teams. South Nodaway simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat King City 54-8 on the road. The result was nothing new for South Nodaway, who have now won five matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
The victory (which was South Nodaway's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 DeKalb and 1-9 Stewartsville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 19.1% over those games). As for King City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
South Nodaway will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Worth County/Northeast Nodaway. Worth County/Northeast Nodaway has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 660 points over their last ten games. King City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
