The Nicolet Knights are taking a road trip to  take on the West Bend East Suns  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Nicolet is probably headed into the  matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Cedarburg just ended the team's  four-game winning streak  on Wednesday. They fell  7-2 to the Bulldogs.

 James Wirth was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he  pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Wirth wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Ari Schupper, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Meanwhile, West Bend East was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They were a single  run away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Whitefish Bay. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
 West Bend East's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Nicolet, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
 Nicolet came out on top in a nail-biter against West Bend East in their previous matchup  back in April, sneaking past  5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
