Meridian was the  10-8 winner over Anacortes when they last played one another  back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Meridian took  a  12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Anacortes on Tuesday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Chloe Heinrich was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.  Natalie Schultz was another key player,  going 1-for-4 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
Meridian now  has a losing record of 1-2. As for Anacortes, their victory  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 3-2.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Meridian is set to  take on  their familiar foe Sehome  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Anacortes will  face off against  rival Mt. Baker  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
