Softball Recap: Wasatch's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Wasatch came out on top against Skyridge on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Wasps took their contest against the Falcons 9-6. This was payback for the Wasps, who suffered a 17-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sydnee McPhie was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Peyton Sandlund was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wasatch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Wasatch moved to 6-16 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Skyridge, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Wasatch is taking a road trip to challenge Salem Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Skyhawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Wasps' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Skyridge, they will take on Mountain Crest in a tournament on Saturday.
