Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Utica). They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 63-30 blowout they got against the Beechcroft Cougars. Given the Redskins' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Cougars are ranked 598th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Utica pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Beechcroft, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Utica will square off against Licking Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beechcroft, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Beechcroft Cougars take on the Columbus International Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbus International will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Beechcroft surely won't give up without a fight.
