Baseball Recap: Corvian Community Takes a Loss

Corvian Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-5 to the Community School of Davidson Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 last Tuesday.

Keldyn Vincent and Gavin McElhinny stepped up to the plate in a big way. Vincent scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while McElhinny scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Corvian Community is 2-1 when McElhinny posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Jackson Gilmore was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Corvian Community's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Community School of Davidson, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Corvian Community didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-0 loss against Pine Lake Prep on the 17th. As for Community School of Davidson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-3 win against Langtree Charter Academy on the 18th.
