Owen Jackson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Jackson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Jackson wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Parker Moore, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Mac Phillips was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Fort Chiswell's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Northumberland, their loss dropped their record down to 19-5.
