They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lee Park Prep Knights, sneaking past 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Hickory Grove Christian who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 22-25, 16-14.
Mackenzie Williams paced Hickory Grove Christian's offense, picking up 19 kills. Williams got some help from Sydney Donald and her 26 assists. Williams also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lauren White, racking up six apiece.
Despite the defeat, Lee Park Prep had strong showings from Carlee Brown, who had 11 digs and one assist, and Emma Shulenberger, who had 20 digs, ten kills, and three aces. Shulenberger is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season.
