The Liberty Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Warren County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Liberty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Liberty came out on top against Gar-Field on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run seventh inning. The Eagles put the hurt on the Red Wolves with a sharp 14-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Liberty let Tyson Schrum and Christopher Laws run wild. Schrum went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Laws went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Laws is becoming a predictor of Liberty's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Colt Loring also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gar-Field only posted an OBP of .310.
Meanwhile, Warren County owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They blew past Skyline 6-0. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to Michael Kenney's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Francis Shaffer was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Blake Hose, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
The win made it two in a row for Warren County and bumps their season record up to 7-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Liberty, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Liberty has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Warren County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Liberty came out on top in a nail-biter against Warren County in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
