The Marion County Eagles suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were outmatched by Manchester at home and fell 62-31. Marion County has not had much luck with Manchester recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Valencia Alridge, who scored 12 points.
It was another big night for Jermiah Martin, who scored 26 points along with five steals for Manchester. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Macaria Mahone, who scored four points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Marion County's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Manchester, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Marion County will head out on the road to square off against Taylor County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylor County will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. As for Manchester, Manchester and Chattahoochee County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Chattahoochee County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.8 points per game.
