The Godley Wildcats won the last time they faced the Hillsboro Eagles, and things went their way on Thursday too. Godley enjoyed a cozy 45-28 victory over Hillsboro. The win made it back-to-back wins for Godley.
Godley found their leader in underclassman Adam Pempsell, who rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Wyatt Burke and his 89 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Godley's win.
Despite the loss, Hillsboro still got an impressive performance from Darrian Hodge, who picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Hodge was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 67 yards.
Godley's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-5. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.33 points. As for Hillsboro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Godley will head out on the road to face off against Benbrook at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Hillsboro, they will look to defend their home field on November 3rd against Venus at 7:00 p.m. Venus comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
