The Bixby Spartans's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Ponca City Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Bixby's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Bixby posted their biggest victory since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Jenks with a sharp 74-54 victory.
Meanwhile, Ponca City scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Muskogee, posting a 92-55 win on the road. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Tay Moore was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Ponca City's points. Another player making a difference was Zadyn Stoll, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Bixby is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Ponca City, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.
Bixby took their victory against Ponca City in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 81-55. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Moore, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds.
