The Byron-Bergen Bees lost against the Wheatland-Chili Wildcats back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Byron-Bergen took a hard 61-45 fall against Wheatland-Chili.
Wheatland-Chili's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leighton Williams led the charge by scoring 24 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Wheatland-Chili's points. Another player making a difference was Jaden Schwenebraten, who scored 20 points.
Byron-Bergen's defeat ended a 11-game streak of away wins and brought them to 2-1. As for Wheatland-Chili, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Byron-Bergen on the road again on Monday and play against Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Wheatland-Chili, they will take on Attica at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Attica and Wheatland-Chili are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
