The Derry Trojans will face off against the Indiana Little Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Derry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Derry barely beat Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 7-1 victory on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Trojans have posted against the Vikings since April 4, 2022.

Cason Long was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other batting news, Jon Wasnick was excellent, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Indiana strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over Elizabeth Forward. That's two games straight that the Little Indians have won by exactly five runs.

Indiana's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Derry, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Derry suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Indiana when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
