The Interboro Buccaneers will venture away from home to face off against the Ridley Raiders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Interboro will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
On Thursday, Interboro got the win against Penn Wood by a conclusive 17-3. Considering the Buccaneers have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Joel Schimpf looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaxson Munro, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Austin Dean also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Interboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .533 that Penn Wood posted.
Meanwhile, Ridley hadn't done well against Marple Newtown recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Raiders' pitchers stepped up to hand the Fightin Tigers a 5-0 shutout.
Evan Nangle was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Wong, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Interboro's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Ridley, their record now sits at 5-8.
Ridley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Interboro hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. It's a different story for Ridley, though, as they've only averaged .248. Will they be able to contain Interboro's hitters?
Interboro came out on top in a nail-biter against Ridley when the teams last played back in March of 2025, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
