Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Odem walked away with it. They breezed by Natalia at home to the tune of 49-7. Odem might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 31 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Josh Chavira, who threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Lozano, who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Another reason for the win was Odem's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Nathan Phillips and Kyle Wuenschel who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Lexington's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 14-7 victory over Boling.
Odem's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Lexington, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
