The Loudoun County Captains waltzed into Friday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Heritage by a score of 34-21. Loudoun County pushed the score to 34-13 by the end of the third, a deficit Heritage cut but never quite recovered from.
Despite the loss, Heritage still got an impressive performance from Luke Wingfield, who rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 67 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Wingfield was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards.
Loudoun County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Heritage, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 3-7.
Loudoun County will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodgrove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Woodgrove is ranked 98th, while Loudoun County is ranked 93rd). Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
