The First Colonial Patriots will stay at home for another game and welcome the Ocean Lakes Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (First Colonial is ranked 210th, while the Dolphins are ranked 206th).
Even though Bayside scored an imposing 61 points on Wednesday, First Colonial still came out on top. First Colonial snuck past the Marlins with a 67-61 win. The win was just what First Colonial needed coming off of a 58-30 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 71-31, which was the final score in Ocean Lakes' tilt against the Knights on Wednesday. Ocean Lakes has struggled against the Knights recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Ocean Lakes saw an underclassman step up: Samara Williams almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 17 rebounds. Williams is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 17 or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Allison Ragudo, who scored 15 points along with three blocks.
Even though they lost, Ocean Lakes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
First Colonial's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Ocean Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
