After a string of four wins, the Richardson Eagles's good fortune finally ran out  on Wednesday. They lost to Highland Park at home  by a decisive  62-45 margin. While losing is never fun, Richardson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings  (they are ranked 261st, while Highland Park is ranked 125th).
 Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Ma'Kayla Carr, who  dropped  a double-double on 12 points and 12  rebounds.  Ciera Hanks was another key contributor,  scoring nine points along with nine  rebounds.
 Richardson's loss  ended  a  12-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 17-12. As for Highland Park, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richardson will take on Lake Highlands at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Highland Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against MacArthur at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. MacArthur is hoping to put an end to  a seven-game streak of away losses.
