Crofton lost against the Meade Mustangs back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Crofton ended up on the wrong side of a rough 69-44 walloping at the hands of the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, Crofton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Mustangs are ranked 66th).
Meade's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashton Turman, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Turman is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Keon Scott, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and three steals.
Crofton's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Meade, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.
Crofton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Wildcats on January 31st. Arundel is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Meade, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bruins at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Broadneck and the Mustangs are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
