Palm Harbor University is a perfect 4-0 against Strawberry Crest since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Strawberry Crest came up short against Sunlake last Thursday and fell 3-1.
While Strawberry Crest ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-17, 21-25, 25-18.
Despite the defeat, Strawberry Crest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyssa Miller had 11 digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Haley Kang, who had ten digs.
Strawberry Crest's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Palm Harbor University, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Palm Harbor University has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Strawberry Crest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
