Make it 13 blowout wins for the Randle Lions this season. They took their match on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 73-29 win over Lamar Consolidated. Winning may never get old, but Randle sure is getting used to it with their 14th in a row.
Alaysia Cook was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Cook is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ifemena Nwora was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Lamar Consolidated's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Krislyn Zamora, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Lamar Consolidated smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. This was only their 18th loss (out of 24 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Randle has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. As for Lamar Consolidated, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-24.
Randle will take on the Buffalos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Bend Marshall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 827th, while the Lions are ranked 326th). As for Lamar Consolidated, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Fort Bend Willowridge will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
