The Central Panthers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 21-20 victory over Woodburn. The victory was just what Central needed coming off of a 57-12 loss in their prior game.
When it comes to explaining why Woodburn lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Cruz Veliz. Despite the final result, he rushed for 198 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 60 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Brody Hawley was in the mix too, providing Woodburn with two touchdowns.
Central's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Woodburn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.
Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Woodburn also has no future games currently scheduled.
